Our Policies

PAYMENT IN ADVANCE

Clients agree to pay $33 per night per dog when making the reservation. The client chooses the dates of the reservation in advance and then pays in advance to secure the reservation dates.

EARLY RESERVATIONS MATTER

We are a small operation in a small family home. To maximize the best service to our clients, we limit 4 dogs per night. We are in high demand because of our unique specialty to cater to small dogs in a calm, peaceful environment. Please make your reservation early to guarantee your reservation.

PRIVACY MATTERS

PLEASE DO NOT come to our home without an invitation, appointment, or reservation. This is our home, before it’s our business. We do NOT welcome walk-ins asking questions about dog boarding. This property is securely protected, and also under video surveillance. We have lived here 25 years, and ensure that no one will steal your dog from our property. Unfortunately some people have wrong motives: the no trespassing signs on the property cover us if we use force to protect ourselves. We do NOT answer the door for strangers, because our safety comes first.

COMMUNICATION MATTERS

We are available to you via telephone and email. We respond quickly after you complete the questionnaire on the contact us page. Unless you say otherwise, we will send you updated photos of your small dog while you are on vacation.

SIZE MATTERS

We only accept small dogs under 20 pounds. We are a small operation that caters only to small dogs.

HEALTH MATTERS

We only accept healthy dogs. We do not administer dog medications via pills, cream, or injections. We do not take dogs that require us to administer medication. You must provide evidence of anti flea, tic, & misquito prescription from a licensed vet. We do not take your dog to scheduled vet visits. We do not accept sick dogs. We do not accept dogs with fleas. We do not accept dogs with skin infections or skin conditions that might contaminate the other dogs in our household. We reserve the right to reject any dog that looks unhealthy, to protect our dog pack from illness.

PREGNANCY MATTERS

We do not accept pregnant dogs or female dogs in heat.

DOG BREED MATTERS

We do not accept puppies from aggressive breeds. We consider an aggressive breed to be any breed that was bred for dog fighting, not permitted onto an aircraft, or not accepted by other dog kennels policies. We reserve the right to refuse any dog breed that poses a threat to our family dogs.

BEHAVIOR PROBLEMS

We do not accept dogs that are not potty trained. We do not claim to be dog trainers. Our oldest dog was trained with police dogs in Nashville, Tennessee. We do not have the desire to perform dog training. Our specialty is loving your dog while you are on vacation. We do not accept dogs with behavioral issues like aggression, urinating in the house, and excessive barking. This is our home, and we don’t want our family dogs to be influenced by negative behavior.

SLEEP MATTERS

We mimic your dog’s sleeping conditions and routine that you have in your own home to reduce stress away from their natural home. If your dog sleeps in a crate, sleeps on the couch, or in your bed we try to mimic that here. It’s better to bring your dog’s bed or crate or blanket with your scent, because it reduces stress and makes dogs feel safe. The night time sleeping environment is quiet and peaceful for maximum rest.

EATING MATTERS

Each dog eats their own food separately and privately. This prevents food stealing or food aggression and ensures that each dog gets their adequate protein and dietary needs met. We feed your dog the food that you bring with the dog. No other dog eats that food, except your dog.

POTTY BREAKS

We have a potty break outside every 3 hours. All the dogs go outside every 3 hours. The length of time outside is contingent on the weather. There is a small fenced area to prevent dangerous interaction with cars or predators.

WHY THE CONTACT FORM QUESTIONNAIRE MATTERS

We take the screening process seriously to protect the well being of every small dog staying at Cotton Dog Palace. We consider the dog’s breed, behavior, and health. We exclude dogs that don’t align with our priority to provide a safe, fun, friendly atmosphere for our clients. We are Not willing to take risks with our dogs or your dog.

YOUR DOG ARE OUR KIDS

We are retired with no children in the home. The dogs are treated like our kids. You can depend on Cotton Dog Palace to keep your dog well-fed, exercised, and entertained. We provide a safe, comfortable, and nurturing environment for your beloved small dog. Your dog will feel right at home here in a relaxed environment.

DOG OWNER NARCISSISTIC BEHAVIOR

We love dogs, but aren’t a fan of narcissistic abuse. Narcissists don’t like being told NO, and we must say no sometimes to protect the best interest of the dogs we have here. We don’t tolerate abusive behavior from narcissistic people. We strive for an environment with love and peace, so no money can buy that. We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone that poses a threat to our peace.

NO REFUNDS

We don’t issue refunds. Each reservation requires advance payment and secures your reservation dates, so please ensure the dates of your vacation are correct.
